Cassie Bishop

Massage Therapist and Founder

Cassie graduated from Art's Academy in the Woods in 2006 after switching high schools her senior year. This shift of environment turned out to be one of the best choices she's ever made. She learned to problem solve creatively, created a portfolio of her work, learned Sign Language, and really enjoyed attending school. The energetic, and diverse group of people at AAW taught her to be proudly passionate, listen to her intuition, and go for her goals.

Cassie thought a career in psychology was in her future. The mind has always fascinated her, she could never (still, to this day) learn enough about it.  She attended Macomb Community College for two years pursuing her degree but had stopped enjoying school. After leaving Macomb, Cassie was working full time, and loving life, but still hadn't found a passion that she could grow into a career.

Cassie gave her now husband regular massages, to help with flexibility and recovery before and after hockey games. During one of these massages, she had an epiphany that she would love a career as a massage therapist. The lessons learned from her days at AAW were put to the test. Following her intuition, she decided to look into schooling and found Irene’s Myomassology Institute. Irene's melded her love of the mind with her newly gained knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Helping others make the same mind and body connection has become her passion, which she followed all the way to owning her own studio with good friend and peer, Christina.

During a session with Cassie you may experience modalities such as myofascial release, reflexology, stretching, trigger point therapy, craniosacral therapy, PNF, and Swedish massage techniques. Cassie utilizes the body's own energy to correct muscular imbalances. Her interest in the mind/body connection has lead her to focus more recently on massage for anxiety and depression, and she is looking forward to growing this area of her practice.

Cassie has been an Associated Bodywork and Massage Professional, and Licensed Massage Therapist since 2013. In her free time she can be found exercising, kayaking, reading, crafting, or enjoying craft beer.
